You’re absolutely right that casein protein has a very different texture and taste compared to whey. Casein is a slow-digesting protein, which means it thickens naturally when mixed with liquid and digests gradually over several hours. This makes it perfect as a night-time or sustained-release protein to help keep your muscles nourished while you sleep, but it can also give that chalkier, custard-like consistency you noticed, especially compared to the smoother texture of whey.
If you prefer something lighter and smoother, sticking with the 100% Whey is definitely a great choice. But if you ever want to give the Protein Créme another go, try blending it with a bit more liquid or adding some ice and a touch of milk, it can help create a creamier texture.
